Jacksonville Deck Builders does not build outdoor kitchens. We don’t build islands or counters, install appliances, or run gas, water or power lines. Your kitchen company or a pre-made kit covers that, and they price it.
We build the space around the kitchen: the deck or paver patio it sits on, a pad for the grill or pizza oven, a pergola or pavilion over it, and bar tops on a deck. This page covers what moves the cost of that part.
What moves the cost of the space around a kitchen
1. Size of the deck or patio
More square feet means more material and labor. Leave room for the kitchen, a walkway around it, and a table.
2. The weight of the kitchen
An island with stone counters, a grill and a fridge is heavy. On a deck we add framing, posts and footings where it will sit. On pavers it needs a solid, compacted base. Tell us the kitchen size before we build so the support goes in the right place.
3. A cover over the cooking area
A pergola adds shade. A pavilion or lean-to with a roof keeps rain off. A roof costs more than an open pergola, and covered structures are engineered to Florida’s wind code and permitted.
4. Gas, water and power
These lines are run by your kitchen company and its licensed trades, and they price them. Tell us where they go before we build so the deck or patio doesn’t have to be cut later.
5. The deck material
If the kitchen goes on a deck, the decking you pick changes the price. Installed, per square foot:
- Pressure-treated pine: about $20 to $30.
- Composite (Trex, MoistureShield): about $28 to $42.
- AZEK PVC and Ipe hardwood: about $20 to $30.
