This website is run by Jacksonville Deck Builders, a brand of Coastal Outdoor Construction. We build and replace decks across Jacksonville and Duval, St. Johns, Nassau, and Clay counties in Northeast Florida. We have been building since 2013 as an FL-licensed general contractor, fully insured.
We want this site to be clear and useful, so we keep this page in plain English. The short version: the prices, ranges, and figures you see here are meant to help you plan, not to lock in a number. Your real price always comes in a written, fixed-price quote after we look at your project. If you have a question about anything below, call us at (904) 944-9253.
Any prices, per-square-foot ranges, or sample project costs on this site are illustrative estimates to give you a ballpark. For example, you may see ranges like composite decking around $15–$40 per square foot installed, pressure-treated wood around $10–$20 per square foot, cedar around $20–$30 per square foot, or a 12x12 deck commonly running around $3,200–$8,400 depending on material. These are general references, not a guarantee of your price.
Your actual cost depends on your design, materials, site conditions, permits, and other details. The only number you can rely on is the one in your written, fixed-price quote. Until you have that quote in hand, treat every figure on this site as a planning estimate that is subject to change.
When we share performance notes, they are general guidance, not promises about your specific deck. For example, AZEK can run about 30 degrees cooler underfoot than a dark composite, but real-world temperatures depend on color, sun exposure, time of day, and the weather. Comparisons between materials are meant to help you choose, not to predict exact results on your property.
We build with quality materials, including Trex, MoistureShield, and AZEK composite and PVC, plus Ipe and cedar as hardwood deck flooring. Any product warranty on those materials is offered by the manufacturer, not by us. The manufacturer sets the terms, the coverage, and the claim process.
If you ever need to use a material warranty, you would file with the manufacturer under their terms. Any warranty details, ranges, or terms mentioned on this site are summaries for your convenience. The manufacturer’s own current documents always control, and we cannot change or guarantee their terms.
Separate from the manufacturer’s product warranty, we stand behind our own labor. The exact terms of our workmanship warranty — what it covers, for how long, and any conditions — are set out in the signed contract for your project. If anything on this site about our warranty differs from your contract, your signed contract is what counts.
We design and build new decks and outdoor living spaces, and we handle full deck replacement, including removing your old deck. Our work is new builds and full replacement. We do not offer ongoing deck repair, restaining, refinishing, or maintenance of an existing deck.
You may see us talk through whether it makes more sense to repair or replace an aging deck — that is a normal homeowner decision, and we are happy to help you think it through. When you choose to move forward with us, the service we provide is a new build or a full replacement.
We engineer our decks to Florida’s 130–150 mph wind codes, using hurricane-rated metal connectors and concrete footings. Permits and final inspections are handled through your local building department, and approval is up to them. Code requirements can vary by location and can change over time, so the specifics for your project are confirmed during permitting and design, not by this website.
Your in-home estimate is free, and removing and hauling away your old deck is free when we build your new one. Our 3D design is paid up front so we can put real time into your plan, and that amount is credited back to your project when you build with us. There is no obligation from the free estimate.
The only rating we publish is our 4.9-star rating on 70 Google reviews. If you see that number anywhere on this site, that is the figure we stand behind. We do not post fake reviews, made-up ratings, or invented testimonials. You can read our reviews directly on Google to judge our work for yourself.
The articles, guides, and tips on this site are for general information about decks and outdoor living. They are not professional engineering, architectural, or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for a licensed professional reviewing your specific situation. For decisions that depend on your exact project, lot, or local rules, rely on a written quote and the proper professionals, not a web page.
Every project is different, so any timelines, build durations, or expected outcomes you read here are general examples, not guarantees. Weather, permitting, material availability, and the details of your site can all change the schedule and the result. We will give you a realistic timeline for your project once we have the details.
If anything here is unclear, or you want a real number for your project, we are glad to help. Call Jacksonville Deck Builders at (904) 944-9253 and we will walk you through it.
